Conference abstracts can be found in 2 ways in AcademicLabs:

Option 1: Conferences filter in Publications NEW: Abstracts of the 2 key conferences (ASCO & ESMO 2025) can now be found by filtering in Publications via ‘Conferences’ on ASCO (4499 conference abstracts) or ESMO (2546 conference abstracts)

Option 2: Conference abstracts published in journals More than 2 million conference abstracts are not specifically indicated as a Conference publication type as this information is not available from any of our sources.

The good news is that many do tend to get published in journals.

Here’s how to find them:

  1. Ask ChatGPT/CoPilot (or search the congress website) to see in which journals they publish the abstracts

    1. ESMO:

      1. "All accepted abstracts will be published in the ESMO Congress 2024 Abstract Book, a supplement to the official ESMO journal, Annals of Oncology.” → See >49.000 abstracts here.

      2. ESMO also has an online-only peer-reviewed open access journal: ESMO Open:

→ See >6k abstracts in AcademicLabs

    2. ASCO: "All accepted ASCO abstracts are published on ASCO.org and available as an online supplement in one of ASCO's journals."

See >160k abstracts in Journal of Clinical Oncology on AcademicLabs

See >1.7k abstracts in JCO Precision Oncology on AcademicLabs

See >2.8k abstracts in JCO Oncology Practice on AcademicLabs

See >900 abstracts in JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics on AcademicLabs

See >1.5k abstracts in JCO Global Oncology on AcademicLabs

  2. In AcademicLabs, go to the Publications category, and add the journal name in the filter. (note: maybe you need to remove an abbreviation if you don’t find a match.)

  3. Select the journal name to filter the publications

  4. Select the publication year of interest

  5. Add your search query on the topic of interest.

  6. You’ll find the abstracts of the congress (and other publications) in that journal on your topic of interest.

Note: for recent congresses, it is possible that only a title is distributed, while it may take a bit longer for the abstract is distributed and available on AcademicLabs.
