Safe emails (verified):

• ✅ “Verified when creating this export file (.. time of export ..)”
  • We already had an email for this person, and Zerobounce verified this address again just now.
  • This means the address is deliverable, and it’s not a “catchall address”.
  • No contact credits are deduced for this operation. (Zerobounce verifications are included with your purchase of the email add-on.)
  • Sources of the email include a.o. publications, ORCID, research group website.
• ✅ “Found and verified when creating this export file (.. time of export ..)”
  • We did not have an email for this person yet, but we found and verified one via our email waterfall methodology (trying 20+ email finder solutions) just now.
  • This means the address is deliverable, and it’s not a “catchall address”.
  • 1 contact credit was deduced for this operation.
• ✅ “Found and verified as a safe catch-all address when creating this export file (.. time of export ..)”
  • We did not have an email for this person yet, but we found and verified a catchall address via our email waterfall methodology (trying 20+ email finder solutions) just now.
  • This means the address is deliverable, but it is a safe “catchall address”. (Safe, as in safe to use. Not a “spam trap” that can damage your sender reputation.)
  • 1 contact credit was deduced for this operation.

Unsafe email (unsuccessfull verification)

  • This email appeared in the author affiliation of a publication.
  • The date shown is when it was last observed in a publication.
  • The email was checked with Zerobounce, but could not be verified as valid.

  • This person’s email was mentioned on their public Orcid profile. ( https://orcid.org/ )
  • The email was checked with Zerobounce, but could not be verified as valid.
• ⚠️ “Profile on research group website”
  • This person’s email was mentioned on their research group website.
  • The email was checked with Zerobounce, but could not be verified as valid.
• ⚠️ “Validated with email verification tool (in the past)”
  • This email was verified in the past, but no guarantees whether this email still works today.
  • The email was now re-checked with Zerobounce, but could not be verified as valid.
• ⚠️ “Validated catchall email address, with email verification tool (in the past)”
  • This catchall email was verified in the past, but no guarantees whether this email still works today.
  • The email was now re-checked with Zerobounce, but could not be verified as valid.

Finally, about the differences between “Active Email” , “Alternative Email” and “All available emails”:

• Active email column: all emails in the “Active Email” column have gone through the ZeroBounce email verification service, at the time the export file is created.

  This also implies: if “Active Email Validity” column does not show one of the ✅-values listed above for someone, it decreases the odds of that email address working. (because it was checked with ZeroBounce, and it couldn’t find signals that it is still a valid email …)

• “Alternative Email” and “All Available Emails” are purely provided as fallback information for you. We did not attempt to verify these emails via ZeroBounce so using these emails may come with a lot more bounces. (i.e. the ✅-values listed above inherently will never appear for the “Alternative Email Validity” column)
