You now find more extensive TA classifications, with:

• More TAs resembling the MeSH tree, though with more BD-friendly namings.
• Additional cross-functional, popular TAs like Aging & Longevity and Women’s Health.
• For each TA, multiple Sub-TAs - totalling 100+ Therapeutic Sub-Areas </aside>

How our companies were annotated with (Sub) TAs

TA annotations were done by our AI looking specifically at the companies’ website content (and About). If for example a specific disease is mentioned in a program, the higher-level (Sub)TA is annotated. Hence, the exact (Sub)TA does not need to be mentioned exactly on the website - our AI infers this.

To see companies active on a specific TA/Disease, there’s 2 approaches:

1. Filter Companies by TA → Filter by Therapeutic Sub-Area. When filtering by a TA, the Sub-TA filter now shows for companies matching the selected TA which Sub-Areas they focus on. This included Sub-Areas for the selected TA - as well as Sub-Areas for other TAs they may focus on.

   When to use:

   • When searching for companies active on all diseases within a TA
   • Filter quickly for relevant companies matching a broader (Sub) TA
   • Trend analysis of (Sub)TAs

• Search for the disease name. You will find more relevant companies, as our powerful search also looks into news, clinical trials, publications, patents, funded projects, and leadership bio’s to find relevant companies.

  When to use:

  • Find the companies most active on a disease at the top (whereas filtering just removes companies not active on the topic - top results are not per se top on the TA filtered by)
  • To not miss out - find all companies active in some capacity on the topic. Use filters like recent publications on the disease, trials in phase 2, recent patents or grants, etc. Or search specifically for companies with a disease mention on Websites, or trials, or publications, etc.
  • If interested in a set of diseases but not all within a (Sub)TA → combine them in a query.
  • Trend Analysis of (Sub)Modalities and other criteria on this more complete dataset.
