Use cases

This release opens up a wealth of discovery and company evaluation use cases, including:

• Finding relevant companies, especially startups, that are otherwise hard or impossible to find because they only communicate on their website about their technology and focus, while not having any patents, grants, clinical trials or publications yet..
• Finding companies that work on a specific target, disease, technology, drug…
• Searching for a company name can reveal partners and competitors (as they mention each other on their websites)
• Search for investor names to see which startups mention a specific investor on their website
• Search for topic AND (funding OR investment) AND (announcement OR news) to find companies with an investment announcement that also mentions a topic of interest (disease, target, technology…)
• Search for in vivo or specific animals on a CRO’s profile to find what services they provide
• …

How it works

Let’s explain step by step below.

1. Search through Website Content in Companies

When you do a search in the Companies category, by default we search in all linked content, including the company websites.

<aside> 👉🏼 If you want to find young startups that don’t have any patents, grants or clinical trials yet, you could search specifically only in their About description and their Website Content. This enables you to find startups that otherwise would be nearly impossible to find.

How: In the Companies category, use the Search By button at the left side of the search bar. Select About and Website Content. Click Apply.

2. Find Companies with Website Matches

Companies with a match on their website for your search query are indicated with a 🌎Globe icon in the ‘Match in’ line.

If you hover over the ‘Match in’ line, you’ll notice in the pop-up it also indicates there’s a match in the Company Website.

3. See which webpages of a company are searchable
