At AcademicLabs:
Synonyms: we by default search from synonyms from MeSH and a huge gene database. This includes also variations of drug names, diseases, genes, etc.
Stemming: e.g. search ‘immune’ will also find ‘immunological’, ‘immunity’, etc. This prevents having to add many variations of a term using OR to not miss out on key research.
Semantic: our publications have AI labeled concepts which you search through. So if a publications is about COVID-19 but does not mention ‘infectious diseases’, you’d still find the paper when querying ‘infectious diseases’ as the publication will be labeled as such. Note: you can always choose to search only by title and abstract via ‘Search By’ if you don’t want this search behavior.
